Austin Dwenger, a junior construction student, is pictured adding weight (bricks) to the truss stand as his model truss is being tested for strength. The pictures below show the progression as more weight is added. The truss first shows signs of strain by making creaking sounds. Then, the wood begins to bend and torque (or twists) until the weight is too much and the truss suddenly snaps. Each junior tested their model, analyzed the results and will use the information they learned as they develop their construction skills.
