Tri Star’s FCCLA Chapter celebrated National FCCLA Week February 13-17 this year. FCCLA, or Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Clubs organize special activities throughout the week to bring awareness to and promote the ideals of the student organization. Tri Star’s FCCLA chapter is made-up of students in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. This year the students chose to do a Chapter Service Project that would make a positive impact on the local community. They picked the topic of heroin abuse and addiction and decided to collect donations for Celina’s House of Hope and Dayton’s Bridges Path. Guest speakers Ashley Huber (an ECE program graduate) and her mother, Tonya Huber spoke to the students about the House of Hope.
Tri Star’s FCCLA students will continue to collect donations for the next two weeks. They can be dropped off by making arrangements with FCCLA Advisor Bonnie Dahlinghaus or an Early Childhood Education student. Call 419-586-7060 Ext. 4011 for details.
