Joseph Wenning, a senior in Tri Star Career Compact’s Engineering Technology program, has been named a Darrell Parks Scholarship winner. Wenning was among 200 students from across the state of Ohio to apply for just two $1000 scholarships awarded annually by the Ohio Association of Career and Technical Education. Any student enrolled in a Career and Technical Program in the state of Ohio is eligible to apply. Students must complete an application and include a 500-1,000 word essay describing how their career-technical education has benefited them and why they are applying for the scholarship.
Wenning, is from Coldwater and plans to attend the University of Toledo to major in mechanical engineering. You can read Wennings award winning essay here. This is the third time a Tri Star student has received the scholarship. Other recipients were Krista Burrows (from Coldwater) in 2014 and Blake Kremer (from Fort Recovery) in 2012.
