Junior Level - 7:45 to 10:05 A.M.
Senior Level - 12:00 to 2:50 P.M.
CREDITS:
3 each year ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Students must complete an application AND be referred to the program by their counselor
RECOMMENDATIONS:
A background in industrial arts or industrial technology may be helpful
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:
This program prepares students to work in entry-level maintenance positions in places such as schools, hospitals, restaurants, state parks, construction companies, retail stores, and more. It also serves as a stepping stone to apprenticeships in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and pipefitting.

Building and Grounds Maintenance is a two-year program in which students develop basic skills in a variety of areas including employability and career development.
The curriculum for this class, may include instruction in general residential maintenance areas such as: rough carpentry:
- carpet/tile/flooring installation
- lighting and electrical
- glass replacement/glazing
- insulation installation
- plastering/ dry wall/ mudding
- fence installation
It may also include instruction in general nonresidential maintenance areas such as:
- electrical maintenance/light repair
- industrial cleaning
- wax/buff floors
- minor plumbing repairs
- pest extermination
- chemical handling
General landscaping skills such as:
- mowing
- pruning
- seeding grass
- spraying
