Diversified Cooperative Training is a work-study program in the skilled trades area. Each student chooses an area of skill study. He/She spends a half day studying life skills and career material related to that skill. The other half of the day is spent on-the-job. A minimum of 15 hours per week of work is required.


Examples of skilled trades students may choose from:

  • Auto body and detailing
  • Carpet installation
  • Child care
  • Construction
  • Cosmetology
  • Custodial services
  • Delivery - truck driving
  • Farm production (pork, beef, poultry, etc.)
  • Heating and cooling service
  • Light manufacturing and assembly
  • Marine maintenance
  • Retail sales
  • Supervision and management development
