Tri Star Career Compact school board member Joe Rose has been named an Outstanding School Board Member by the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). In his nomination letter, Tri Star Director Tim Buschur wrote: “Joe Rose has served as a school board member to Tri Star Career Compact for 14 years. He has worked as an adviser to the Tri Star construction program and helped to interview construction candidates. He taught the construction program when the instructor was out due to a medical issue. Rose, a graduate of Tri Star’s construction program, currently owns and operates his own construction and electrical business, Rose Construction. He has donated equipment to the construction program as well as vehicles to Tri Star’s automotive program and other various materials to the Horticulture program. He has also worked with potential buyers of Tri Star’s annual home project, in which students build a complete home from top to bottom. He designed, consulted, and solicited support for a new Animal Science barn for Tri Star’s Vet Tech program. He was a member of the committee that helped start the Hometown Opportunity website which lists job openings in the surrounding area. Furthermore, Rose has attended several state meetings regarding curriculum, is part of Vision 2020, and volunteers as a member of the construction committee to find a new school partnership for Tri Star Career Compact. “
