In the next five years Nurse Aides will be part of the largest occupation in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than five million people will be nurse aides and home health care workers.
The demand is creating challenges for assisted living, long term care facilities and home health agencies across the region. The West Central Ohio Workforce Development Initiative is providing nurse aide training in response to the need.
Nurse Aide training is being offered in St. Marys at Tri Star Career Compact’s Dennings Vocational Building, Room 124, 809 McKinley Road. Apollo’s Adult Education will provide the training. Classes begin Monday, April 25 – May 12, Monday through Thursday from 5 – 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
In just three weeks students can complete the program, register for the state test and be on the job quickly.
