A small group of adults recently completed 30 hours of FANUC robotics training at Tri Star’s Dennings Vocational Building in St. Marys. The 30 hour course was taught by Tri Star’s REC Tech instructor Jerry Kohnen and is the first robotics class provided through the West Central Ohio Workforce Development Initiative. The training covered the basics in material handling and programming on FANUC robots and each student earned certification. Students who completed the course were: Alan Kunk employed with Randall Bearings, David Kates with Honda, Carter Kates, and Amy Dunifon with Contitech. It was also noted that Amy and Alan completed Tri Star programs (Computer Support Technology and Precision Machining, respectively) while in high school.
