Students, in Tri Star’s Career Based Intervention (CBI) program, reported their earnings for the 2016-17 school year at $1,021,055 according to CBI Instructors Don Berry (Celina) and Scott Albers (St. Marys). Over 120 students from Celina, St. Marys, Coldwater, Marion Local, New Knoxville and Minster were enrolled in the program during the past school year. The CBI program is a work-study program in which students explore various career paths and learn entrepreneurship, workplace ethics, money management, financial literacy and are required to obtain employment. Of the 120 students enrolled, 41 earned over $10,000 each during the school year.
Berry commented, “The students we had in the program were very good workers. Companies are looking for students who are willing to work hard and show up to work on time.” Albers added, “We are very fortunate to have the great businesses and companies we have. They work well with Tri Star and give our students many opportunities.”
