Ohio SkillsUSA Southwest Regional Championships Results
Tri Star Career Compact SkillsUSA Student Organization sent a contingent of students recently to the Ohio SkillsUSA Southwest Regional Championships. The following students placed in the top three in their competition and qualified to compete at the state level in Columbus this April.
Med Prep senior Lindsey Bergman (from Marion Local) took first place, earning a gold medal in the Medical Math Competition.
Graphic Communications senior Hayley Oldiges (from Celina), won a silver medal in the Advertising Design competition which was held at the School of Advertising Art in Kettering.
Trent Bohman (from Marion Local), a junior in Tri Star’s Engineering Technology program also won a silver medal. He placed second in the Technical Drafting competition held at Sinclair Community College, Dayton.
Automotive Technology senior Robert Egbert (from New Knoxville), took the bronze medal in the Automotive Service Technology contest. Egbert competed against 16 other contestants at Sinclair Community College. The Auto Service Technology contest consists of a written test and the completion of 10 different service tasks set-up at individual stations covering diagnostics, inspections, research and testing.
Precision Machining seniors Keegan Liette and Adam Wicker (both from St. Marys), brought home medals. Liette took second (silver medal) in CNC Turning and Wicker came in third (bronze medal) in CNC Milling.
