Tri Star Career Compact, in partnership with the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), was host to a Success Series program for Precision Machining teachers on March 9th. Thirteen instructors, from across Ohio, converged on Tri Star’s Precision Machining program at the Dennings Bldg. in St. Marys to discuss the latest trends in the machining profession. The Success Series was started three years ago by Ohio ACTE to provide instructors with professional development in programs where there are few opportunities related to their teaching specialty.
The attendees heard Tri Star’s Precision Machining Instructor Rob Menker discuss his teaching and recruiting methods and met and talked with other Tri Star instructors as well. Tess Elshoff, President of the Ohio School Board, Jared Ebbing, Mercer County Economic Development Director, and Brian Styer and Ben Brigham from the Nidec Minster Company also spoke to the group.
A special thank-you goes to Rob Menker for opening up his classroom and sharing his experience and expertise.
