Tim Buschur, Tri Star Career Compact’s Director has been named the Administrator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE). He was presented with the award at the ACTE Connections to Education Conference on July 24, 2017. The purpose of this award is to recognize career-technical educators who contribute to professional associations and career-tech programs in their communities.
Buschur’s nomination: Tim Buschur is the Director of Tri Star Career Compact and has held that position since 2000. Previously, he was Tri Star’s Assistant Director and worked for Coldwater Schools as assistant principal and athletic director. Buschur recently led the levy campaign for Tri Star’s new building project, a first for a compact school in the state of Ohio. Tim has contributed to professional associations by serving as President of the Ohio ACTE (2015-16) and was on the Ohio Legislative Conference Committee for two years. He has served as Co-President and President of the Ohio Career Technical Administrators (OCTA), and was a member of the excutive board for eight years. Buschur has served as the treasurer of the Ohio Association of Comprehensive and Compact Schools (CCS) since 2009, following terms as Vice President and President. He worked with (at the time) Ohio Senate Speaker Keith Faber on the Workforce Development Bill and has testified for career-technical education at the state level.
