Wednesday, March 25th was a very good day for many Tri Star students. Eight students were recognized at the 20 Under 20 Awards Banquet while six students competed in the State SkillsUSA competition in Columbus. Eight of the 22 award winners were Tri Star students and 20 of the 22 were career technical students. Thanks to all the teachers who took the time to nominate students for the award.
State SkillsUSA Winners were …
The Health Knowledge Bowl Team, consisting of Med Prep seniors Seth Pierron and Jonathon Schmitz (Marion Local), Emily Miller (Coldwater) and Allison Speck (St Henry), won first place and received a gold medal. The team will advance to the national competition which is held in Louisville, Kentucky in June. Their teacher is Brenda Speck.
REC Tech senior Michael Deitz (St. Marys) came in second place receiving a silver medal in the Electronics Technology competition. His teacher is Jerry Kohnen.
Precision Machining senior David Kunkler (St. Henry), also came in second place and received a silver medal in the CNC Machining competition. His teacher is Rob Menker.
