Hope K. Bruggeman, a senior in the Tri Star Graphic Communications program, has been awarded the Art & Academic Achievement scholarship for The Modern College of Design (formerly the School of Advertising Art) in Kettering. Hope, the daughter of Michael and Jodi Bruggeman will receive the $10,000 award as she begins her first year studying design. The Modern Art & Academic Achievement Scholarship is an extremely competitive process, awarded to incoming students based on high school academic achievement and a portfolio of art and design works.
A senior at St. Henry High School, Hope is treasurer of the Graphics SkillsUSA club, is a member of Art club, Spanish club, and Science club, has maintained Honor Roll every quarter, and has a varsity letter in track. Hope is the designer of the “investED” logo seen throughout Mercer County, and currently balances her after-school hours between working at Coldwater Ben’s, babysitting, and a plethora of community service projects.
Tri Star Career Compact provides career technical education to 9 area school districts, with locations in Celina, St. Marys, and Coldwater. With the generous support of area residents and businesses, Tri Star is currently erecting a new, state-of-the-art facility across from Wright State Lake Campus. Graphic Communications is a two-year program for juniors & seniors focusing on careers in graphic design, advertising, digital illustration, print & bindery production, and photography.
The Modern College of Design, located in Kettering, Ohio, is a nationally recognized college for graphic design.
