Tri Star’s Precision Machining and Engineering Tech programs were the recipients of a generous $15,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation. The grant money is awarded to manufacturing programs for such things as scholarships, NIMS credentialing and student competitions (SkillsUSA). Students in both Tri Star programs will reap the benefits of this grant.
Tri Star has used Haas Foundation monies in the past to pay for sending students to attend SkillsUSA competitions and last year to award six Tri Star students with $1,500 scholarships to further their education in the field of manufacturing. Pictured (left to right) with the check are juniors Casey Goodwin (from the Precision Machining program), Christopher Hartings, Tanner Mulhenkamp (from the Engineering Tech program), and Natalie Larken (also from Precision Machining).
