Junior construction students spent their class time Tuesday morning learning how to pour a concrete slab. Twenty juniors from seven area schools got hands-on experience by putting in the concrete at the entrance to the new Tri Star animal barn. A local company delivered wet concrete while all of the students worked to fill in gravel, spread, screed, and smooth the concrete, and finish the slab. The students were under the supervision of instructor Brett McGillvary. Prior to this morning's work, the students built the form to contain the wet concrete. Once the first slab is cured the juniors will come back and pour the second section of the slab. Thanks and ... nice work guys!
