Senior Engineering Technology student Nathan Kaiser (from Coldwater) took second place in the SkillsUSA Southwest Regional Technical Drafting competition. The competition was held February 1^stat Sinclair Community College, Dayton. The Technical Drafting competition includes a written exam that assesses general knowledge of the standards and competencies of technical drafting. Contestants are also required to create part and assembly drawings of a mechanical product. They are assessed on their ability to create 3D models and extract properly scaled 2D views. Kaiser was awarded a medal for his efforts and has qualified to compete at the Ohio State SkillsUSA competition to be held in Columbus in April. Tri Star's engineering technology program is taught by Keith Westerick.
