Proctor and Gamble of Dayton, Ohio, Tri Star's newest business partner, donated two Universal robot cells (pictured below) to the REC Tech program. The robots, built in 2016, are like new, having never been used in production. Jerry Kohnen, Tri Star's REC Tech teacher, explained that the robots did not meet weight lifting expectations for a company project so Proctor and Gamble could not use them. He said he plans to enhance the advanced manufacturing curriculum in his program by adding this type of robotic training in both the junior and senior REC Tech classes. The cells are a great addition to the bank of FANUC robots already being used in the two-year program. Thanks to Chris Huelsman and Procter and Gamble of Dayton for making this donation happen!!
