Tri Star Career Compact was recently selected as the recipient of the Mercer Savings Bank Nonprofit of the Month. Mercer Savings Bank has always been deeply rooted in the communities it serves and, as part of that, believes that reinvesting in those communities should be a large part of its mission. Building on that idea, each month one branch is selected to donate $1,000 to an organization of their choice. The Celina branch selected Tri Star for their having printed face shields during the COVID 19 pandemic. Engineering Technology Instructor Keith Westrick and REC Tech Instructor Jerry Kohnen both put the 3-D printers used in training their students to work printing hundreds of face shields which were donated to various area community organizations including hospitals, hair salons, and child care centers. Mercer Savings Bank representatives Rick Ross and Bill Martin stopped by the engineering tech classroom this week to present Tri Star Director Tim Buschur and Asst. Director Brian Stetler with the award check. Buschur said that the money is being used to purchase a new 3-D printer and printing materials. Thank you, Mercer Savings Bank!
