It's scholarship application time! There are scholarships for all students including those attending two- or four- year colleges, those who plan to pursue additional training such as a certification or credential (less than two years), and there is even one for those who plan to go straight into the workforce.

The Tri Star Skills Gap Grant is awarded to one student in each of Tri Star's programs and can be used for tools, equipment, a computer, books, tuition, etc. - things needed to pursue their chosen career field whether the student is going straight into the workforce or on to college. Find the Skills Gap Grant application here. You must print the application, complete it and turn it into the Tri Star office by the deadline.
Tri Star is pleased to highlight (below) four of the scholarships managed by the Mercer County Civic Foundation (MCCF) and being offered specifically to Tri Star students.
1. Raymond & Mary Wenning Family Scholarship. New this year, this $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who pursues further education in a vocational trade program, including HVAC, electrical, auto-mechanic, plumbing, welding, machining, agriculture, or a similar field. The application can be found on the MCCF website here.
2. Mercer County Civic Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Tri Star senior who is pursuing advanced training or education at an accredited institution or at the university level, has a 3.2 GPA, and values hard work and integrity. To find information and an online application for this scholarship go to the Mercer County Civic Foundations Scholarship page here. In 2022 this scholarship award was $5000.
3. Tri Star Eternal Scholarship. This endowed scholarship will annually offer five scholarships (minimum $1000 each) to Tri Star graduating seniors. Students may reapply for this scholarship after leaving Tri Star and while continuing their education. The paper application for this scholarship can be found here or an online application can be found on the MCCF website here.
4. Ken Sr., Chloe, and Ken, Jr. Esmonde Family Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship fund was established in 1998 at the Mercer County Civic Foundation in memory of the Esmonde Family. Ken Esmonde, Sr. was an avid sports enthusiast; Chloe was a successful business woman, and their son Ken II, a skilled mechanic interested in technology. Three $1,000 memorial scholarships are given yearly for Tri Star senior graduates pursuing higher education in any major. An online application can be found on the MCCF website here.
