Marathon XI: Tri Star Eternal Scholarships Update from Rod Carpenter...
Just a few things to announce -
Latest check came in yesterday: Marcia Helentjaris $100
Grand Total is now $73,543.01!
Unless more individual contributions come in, the only ones yet to come are St. Mary's VFW. They have pledged to do two more checks of $250 each. We are also fairly certain we will be receiving a $1000 check from an organization which has a vote on it this month. I won't release that name unless we receive it, so, approximately $1500 more to come in. If that happens and the market is around where it is now then we may be shy of $215,000 in the fund by approximately $300. We will see where it ends up.
Either way, I am here to announce that there will be five (5) recipients of the Tri Star Endowed Eternal Scholarship of $1500 each.
As always, Barb and I are very thankful for everyone that was on board with this second fundraiser for the fund. We plan to leave the awards at $1500 each for 2-3 years then will evaluate it again.
Keep in mind, you are always able to contribute to this fund anytime you wish. You can also add this fund to your Last Will and Testament. Either way be sure you designate it to the Tri Star Endowed Scholarship Fund. If you are a new donor we will add you to the Eternal Sheet which is given to each recipient showing them who all supported their scholarship. Any questions just let me [Rod] know. We will begin working on thank you letters but please be patient as we have a lot going on with raising these kids. If any more donations come in I will post it and let you know how the fund is doing every so often. Thanks again to all and have a great rest of the week.
