On May 5th, 2024, the Junior Med Prep Class held their 29th Annual Pinning Ceremony for the Senior Med Prep Class of 2024. Historically the first pinning ceremony, conducted in the 1860s, was held to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of graduating nurses. Tri Star’s Pinning Ceremony is also a special ceremony for Med Prep seniors who have successfully completed the two-year program.
Junior SkillsUSA President, Avery Knapke, and Vice-President Hailey Garrity welcomed guests to Tri Star’s Crown Student Union and opened the ceremony. The ceremony included a farewell speech to classmates from senior SkillsUSA President, Mackenzie Bornhorst. Following her remarks was the honored candle lighting ceremony which symbolized the passage of knowledge from the seniors to the juniors. The Pinning Ceremony was concluded with Med Prep Instructors, Mrs. Brenda Speck and Mrs. Annette Albers imparting words of wisdom to their graduating seniors.
