Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted, a strong proponent of workforce development and career technical education, made a visit to Tri Star Career Compact Wednesday afternoon. Speaking to a group of Tri Star students, teachers, administrators, and local business people before touring the building, the Lt. Governor offered complements on the new Tri Star building and praised the stakeholders who made it possible - taxpayers, school districts, and area businesses. Many of his comments however, were aimed toward the Tri Star students in attendance. He told them there was no need to go in debt for their education, that they could land a good paying job right out of high school. He said that they had a great opportunity to live their version of the American Dream because they took advantage of career training. He said that Tri Star was doing exactly what is needed to prepare them for careers after high school and that career education was a win-win for everyone: employees, employers, and communities. Current and former Tri Star students shared their career paths and success stories with the Lt. Governor and some spent time with him in their classrooms showing him their work. Husted completed his tour posing for pictures.
A big thank you to Lt. Governor Husted and his staff for spending time at Tri Star!
