Many thanks to Karen Perts and her family for organizing and hosting a wonderful celebration of life and fundraising event in memory of her late husband, Jim Perts. The event was held Sunday afternoon at the Celina Moose Lodge Deck. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to establish the James Leslie Perts Memorial Fund which will be donated to Tri Star for the development of a welding/metal testing lab within the Welding classroom. Metallurgy was a passion of Mr. Perts who earned a bachelor's degree in metallurgy and was a metallurgist with the St. Marys Foundry for 47 years. Tri Star Career Compact became one of his many interests after he toured the new facility and saw the hands-on training opportunities offered to area students.

Tri Star would also like to thank everyone who donated auction items as well as those who came out to honor Jim and raise funds for this great project!!!
