Tri Star’s largest senior Med Prep class received their caduceus pin Sunday evening, April 23rd. Thirty-five seniors were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Med Prep program over the last two years.
Junior Med Prep SkillsUSA president, Norah Lange began the ceremony by welcoming parents, relatives, and school administrators to the Crown Student Union at Tri Star Career Compact.
Brooke Stammen, Senior SkillsUSA president, spoke on behalf of the seniors reflecting on their experiences in the Med Prep program and expressing gratitude for their instructors Brenda Speck and Annette Albers.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a caduceus pin, a universally recognized medical symbol of two serpents entwined around a staff surmounted with wings, by Speck and Albers.
Tim Buschur, Tri Star’s Director, also presented each graduate with a career passport. The passport is a portfolio which contains documentation of a student’s educational, community and work experience, including a certification of the skills the students have mastered in the Med Prep program.
The evening concluded with a candle lighting ceremony and recitation of the Health Occupations Pledge. Pictures from the ceremony are at the bottom of the post.
