Five Tri Star Career Compact seniors traveled to the National SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia to compete June 20-22, 2023. The annual SkillsUSA conference, often referred to as the "Olympics of Skilled Trades", was a showcase of career and technical education where more than 6,000 outstanding career and technical education students -- many state contest winners -- competed hands-on in 110 different trade, technical and leadership fields.
Congratulations to Med Prep seniors Abigail Post (St. Henry), Jasmine Schulze (Coldwater), and Audrey Wendel (St. Henry) on their 5th place finish in the Career Pathways- Health Sciences event. Annette Albers and Brenda Speck serve as the Med Prep instructors and SkillsUSA advisors.
And, congratulations to REC Tech seniors Cole Seitz and Kasey McCann for their 5th place finish in the Robotics and Automation Technology Competition. Their REC Tech instructor and SkillsUSA advisor is Jerry Kohnen.
SkillsUSA is a career and technical student organization aimed at connecting career technical students to business and industry leaders and promoting the skilled trades occupations.
